Tony:
Lydia:
I know we don't know each other too well, but you seem charming. Don't make getting blown up a habit.
Are you alright? Are they treating you well?
I can't come visit, but I'll keep you in my thoughts. I'd pray for your good recovery, but if I ever did believe in a God he's clearly not worthy or the title.
Lydia:
...Are you okay? I should've checked on you yesterday after.
Well. You know.
If you ever need a hand, or a shoulder, or an ear you know where to find me.

Whatever they took her away for, it's not half as bad as what she was really up to. ...I still worry about what happens when people get arrested. Even Matt doesn't know; I've asked. But he's working to defend her, I know that was a thing last time I talked to him, so I hope it's still true. He'll get her a milder sentence, he's really good.

[That message takes a while in coming, as Morgana reads and rereads what Lydia said. Matt wasn't someone she had ever spoken too, really, but if there was a chance that Root was alive and he could have her spared she'd have to get him the biggest bowl of fresh fruit she could steal, beg or barter for.]
I feel like they kill them... but if she's still alive. If there's a chance. [Root was both of their friends, more or less, but it felt more than friendship, the way the idea of her being dead or suffering coiled around her heart and threatened to choke it.
Could she be alive? Was the computer that forgiving? Surely Root wasn't pulled away like that for something mild, it had to have discovered something else she had done — and she was always doing something.]

( She has to tell herself that the same is true for Root; for Ray. Because if it isn't, she's not sure she can handle that loss. The bond forced between she and Ray when their memories had leaked into one another's subconscious minds leaves her feeling a void inside herself in his absence that she doesn't understand and can't explain. Thinking he's locked up hurts less than thinking he's dead. )

[While she was happy to grasp at Lydia's particular set of straws, to be honest, Morgana didn't feel hopeful about the situation. Finding Roots things in the HQ, there but untouched, not seeing her look up from some project and tease Morgana for looking like she'd seen a ghost when she had burst through the doors, it had a sort of... finality to it. It sat wrong, more wrong than being in gaol, more wrong than a dungeon or torture or any of that.
It reminded her of when her father had died, hundreds of miles away from her and yet still she smelt the tang of blood on the air.]

or never comes back at all. [What's the point???] I wish I was less useless. I never thought I could be more useless than when locked away in a castle but who knew.

( For better or worse, she supposes. )
It sucks, but there's kind of not a whole lot we can do, you know? Except miss her. At least you're in good company with your uselessness. You're not alone.

Root was teaching me some things, though a lot of it might as well have been ancient Sumerian. Though I supposed to be fair she seemed to think the same about stories of questing beats and unicorns and magic as I did about all this technology.
You're incredibly bright though, Lydia. I think you could outlast almost all of us.

Don't worry, I'm not feeling sorry for myself it's just. Well... Don't worry, I'll work it out.
Stay safe, Lydia.
