[ Barry is barely beyond the doors of Technical Services before he's broadcasting. He looks clearly shaken and confused.]

I just woke up in Technical Services and they told me I've been on the surface for four days... I don't remember any of it.

Is everyone good? Is Cisco okay? Why are people calling me Stripper on the internet? There's going to be a ball?

Supposedly for charity, so likely for the computer. I don't even know.

Also, I don't think I've met Cisco, but I think he might have been involved in the bot lab explosion. No one died, though? He should be fine. Tony is fine. The physicians here are alarmingly good.

...even though you don't remember, if there's a surface that means there's somewhere else to go other than the complex, doesn't it?

He was in the explosion. He was in surgery the last time I tried to see him. I'm glad Tony's okay.

It's a possibility. They seem to be secretive enough about it to warrant that it might be a real means of escape.

I'm sure he'll be alright, Barry. [So she's not exactly friends with Barry, and she's never met Cisco, but that doesn't mean she doesn't hope, for both their sakes, he is fine as well.]

It's something to think about, at least. I'm getting tired of metal walls.

He says he's okay. [ He's not sure if he believes it. And even if he is, Barry isn't sure he's okay with that close call.]

I think we're all tired of these walls. But the way they prepare you to go up there... I don't know how much safer it is.

I'm not sure I'd trust that the computer wasn't making it seem like an ordeal just so you'd come back thinking it was impossible. It would be better to die free than to live a slave, always looking over our shoulders. But we're not close to finding an out, anyway.

[ Root had been complicated and Barry hadn't been sure until she'd been taken and no one had come for all of them that she'd been totally trustworthy, but he had been disturbed by her being taken. ] Me too.

He's been teaching me how to dance the "modern" way, whatever that means.

Do you have any bruises, cuts, or places on your head that might mean you hit your head in any way? And did you get checked out at medical services? Sometimes that can cause some memory loss?

No, as far as I can tell I'm okay, but I don't like the idea of lost time here. They have technology we don't completely understand yet.

It's good that you don't have any big signs of being hurt, but the lost time is something to worry about. It's not normal. I wish I knew more about the medical technology here I'd offer to help more.

( She thinks she recalls him going on a surface mission with Ray, once, too. She doesn't remember for sure, but she thinks that neither of them remembered much of that trip, either. Of course not, because if they remembered the way to and from the surface then they know the way out of this God forsaken complex. )

Everyone's good, as far as I know. You'll find that I'm not in Forensics anymore once you get to work though... I've opened my store in the Commissary. I heard that the ball is to raise money to rebuild the Bot Processing part of the R&D sector.

No, it isn't. [ At least this time he didn't wake up with memories of losing his father. That doesn't mean that it makes the missing time any easier to swallow.]

Ehhh, I'm doing okay so far. Sales are steady but not amazing or anything. I'm waiting for my big break :P I can give you one more excuse: I hired Cisco to work on my bots. ( Translation: to build deadly toys for Specials while pretending to work on her bots ) So I better see you at least once in a while, mister.

Okay. ...if you need anything... You know? ( God knows he's been there for her when she's needed it. The least she can do is return the favor. )

[ Cisco offers his friend a small smile, almost apologetic. He knows Barry left off while Cisco was still in really, really bad shape. ] I'm awesome. Seriously, don't worry about me, I'm good. Just be glad you didn't have to see me those first couple of days, huh? [ He laughs a little. ] Seriously. I told you, didn't I? Ladies love Cisco.

Yeah, good call, for sure. You want me to meet you somewhere or anything? So you don't have to go by yourself?

[ Easier said than done, Cisco, but Barry smiles back anyway. ] If you say so. You sound okay, at least. And yeah, you told me - I just never quite believed it.

[He lets out a small laugh, letting the tension melt from his shoulders.] Yeah, if you want to meet me at the forensics lab that'd be great.

[ Even if it's mostly just so he can see that he's okay with his own eyes.] Meet you there in twenty?

I do say so. I'm totally good as new now. [ This is the part where Cisco allows himself the luxury of looking especially smug. ] Well, now you have to. Boom.

[ He gives his friend a small smile and a nod. ]
